At Kystdesign we merge cutting-edge technology with dedicated craftsmanship. For over 25 years we’ve been designing and producing custom ROV’s and components, setting industry standards for quality and performance. 

Excelling in all technical aspects, our multidisciplinary team covers system-level design to individual components. With specialists in mechanical design, hydraulic systems, electronics, and software development, our in-house engineers guide each project from concept through to prototyping and qualification. Extensive offshore experience ensures our solutions are robust and reliable in the most demanding environments.

Our products, known for their reliability and high standards, support various industries including oil & gas, survey, fish farming, ocean research, search & rescue, and navy. We offer comprehensive, turn-key solutions like work-class ROVs, customized to meet the needs of our clients.

Based in Tysvær, Norway, we serve industries globally. Our advanced facilities, including one of Northern Europe’s largest test pool, underline our commitment to quality and innovation. Step one

Human resources policy

This policy ensures that we maintain a safe, respectful, and ethical workplace for everyone involved.

Commitment to Human Rights

Kystdesign is committed to supporting and respecting the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights. As a part of this commitment, we are an active partner of the UN Global Compact (UNGC). We uphold the highest ethical standards and adhere to the ten principles of UNGC. We do not accept any from of slavery or human trafficking in any part of our supply chain. 

HR Principles

Our fundamental human resources principles are driven by our business conduct and ethics. We are committed to complying with the human rights laws and regulations of the countries with jurisdiction over our business and our associated persons, including directors, officers, employees, and third-party representatives. Kystdesign is committed to preventing discrimination and promoting a respectful and inclusive workplace for all employees and associated persons and ensuring fair and equitable recruitment processes. 

Reporting Concerns

We encourage all employees and associated persons to raise any concerns about unethical or illegal behaviour and to report suspected wrongdoing. Most concerns can be resolved through dialogue with an immediate manager, another manager, the HSEQ Manager, the CEO, or any employee elected personnel, such as safety delegates or employee representatives. Employees and associated persons should feel empowered to speak up without fear of reprisal. If you wish to report concerns anonymously, you can do so through our occupational health service provider. 

Violations

Violations of this policy or the related laws could result in significant criminal and civil liability, including imprisonment, fines, and penalties. Any associated person who knowingly fosters illegal conduct, ignores suspicious circumstances, or fails to comply with human rights laws or this policy will be subject to disciplinary action, including possible termination of employment or engagement.Kystdesign has an extremely high regard for human rights and freedoms and has put in place systems and processes that guard these freedoms against abuse of any kind, including (but not limited to) slavery, servitude and forced or compulsory labour, child labour and human trafficking. These systems and processes form Kystdesign fundamental human resources principles and are driven by Kystdesign code of conduct and ethics.

This code of conduct ensures that we maintain a safe, respectful, and ethical workplace for everyone involved.

Safe and Respectful Workplace

Kystdesign is committed to providing a safe environment free from discrimination, bullying, and harassment, including sexual harassment. We operate a zero-tolerance policy for any form of harassment and treat all incidents seriously. Complaints will be promptly investigated, and anyone found to have harassed another will face disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal. All complaints will be treated with respect and confidentiality, and no one will be victimised for making a complaint.

Zero Tolerance to Bribery and Corruption

Kystdesign has zero tolerance for bribery and corruption and complies with relevant domestic and international laws. We are committed to upholding the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and applicable labour standards. High caution is exercised when signing agreements with agents in foreign countries, and only the CEO is authorised to sign these agreements.

Ethical Standards

We expect our employees, partners, and suppliers to adhere to high ethical standards. Employees must act with integrity and honesty in all business dealings. This includes being truthful in communications, avoiding conflicts of interest, and ensuring transparency in all transactions.

Personal use of company resources and equipment is allowed only when it does not interfere with company operations or productivity. Employees must ensure that such use is reasonable and does not result in additional costs to the company.

Gifts and Hospitality

Kystdesign employees are not allowed to present personal gifts to our customers and partners, but we are allowed to treat our customers and business partners to dinner. We are not allowed to receive personal gifts on behalf of Kystdesign. If given such gifts, they are to be handed over to the administration, who will conduct a raffle to distribute them within the organisation based on equal opportunities.

Step two

We have identified our supply chain as the area with highest potential of adverse impacts and started focusing on our suppliers. We assess our suppliers based on RBC (Responsible Business Conduct) risks in accordance with the Transparency Act.

Step three

If we discover any elevated risk probability of RBC risk within our supply chain, we will evaluate the possibility to influence our supplier in a positive manner, eliminate the supplier or implement additional measures to control the supplier. If we discover any breaches, we will evaluate the need to file a police report.

Step four

We will monitor the implementation of actions and follow-up.

Step five

Step six

If we realise that Kystdesign has caused or contributed to actual adverse impacts we will take actions to correct and mitigate as good as possible.
