Andreas found Kystdesign to be the perfect place to combine his interests in programming and technology.
For Andreas Våge, the path into engineering started with a love for mathematics and physics. Later, he discovered programming, which eventually led him to pursue a master’s degree in Cybernetics.
When looking out for companies where he could apply his education, Kystdesign stood out.
– It’s a highly technical company competing at a world-class level in a field I find really cool, he explains.
Today, he has been part of Kystdesign for three years, working on what he describes as the brain of the ROV: the control systems that determine how the ROVs behave, as well as the systems that allow pilots to operate it.
Starting at Zeerov
One of the things Andreas appreciates about Kystdesign is the opportunity to be involved in the overall process. That became clear from day one, as he joined us in the middle of the Zeerov project.
It was an exciting time to start, with a lot happening. I got to be involved in integrating different systems into the ROV, and had to learn a lot of new things.

Challenging Tasks, Great Colleagues, and an Active Lifestyle
Today, Andreas’ workdays combine software development, testing, and collaboration across multiple disciplines. What he enjoys most is the combination of challenging technical tasks and great colleagues.
When not at work, Andreas enjoys spending time outdoors and helping on his brother’s farm. He also enjoys sailing his boat and playing board games with friends.
It’s great to have you on the team, Andreas!
