Subsea partnership extends industry collaboration

Kystdesign enters into partnership with DRIFT Offshore to increase both technical and support capacity.

Kystdesign has partnered up with DRIFT Offshore in a new joint service offering to be able to meet customers’ expectations in the US market and other key regions.

DRIFT Offshore provides expert support services for safe and successful project execution. They offer competent personnel, quality training, technical expertise, crewing and management services, and strategic resource planning. DRIFT Offshore’s people are proven in solving complex problems and keeping operations on track, underpinning efficient job performance and inspiring confidence. DRIFT Offshore is a subsea resourcing alternative based on a unique combination of fresh thinking and years of front-line global experience.

DRIFT Offshore may support our global service delivery from their new subsea repair facility in South Florida. This 5,000 sq ft base has potential of increasing our capacity to deliver efficient and reliable service for Kystdesign ROV systems in the region.

Since announcing our partnership last year, we have focused on specialist pilot training for Kystdesign ROVs, addressing a key skills gap in the global subsea industry.

DRIFT Offshore’s facility will be fully equipped to deliver repairs and upgrades, featuring electronic and hydraulic workshops, mechanical assembly capability, and manipulator repair services for the Schilling product line.

Olafur Gislason, Sales & Business Development Manager Kystdesign, says: “We see a great potential in this partnership, and look forward to developing our services together. This collaboration expands Kystdesign´s reach to the market especially in the Western Hemisphere”.

Kyle Pitman, Co-founder and President – Americas at DRIFT Offshore, says: “Our partnership with Kystdesign has already proved highly productive. We look forward to working even more closely together to support safe and efficient offshore operations. Our new Florida base will help close a critical gap in the support infrastructure for the entire industry, while reinforcing Kystdesign’s quality service offering in the US. This is an exciting step forward for both parties, and we’re pleased to showcase its possibilities at Subsea Tieback.”
